Confessing the Christ
Romans 10:8-11
8
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy
heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.
11
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Please notice that in Romans 10:10 Paul says that”with the mouth confession
is made unto salvation”
That is confession is in the direction of salvation. It is a prerequisite
for one becoming a Christian..

Jesus stresses the need to confess him or acknowledge Him before men in
Matthew 10:32,33
32
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also
before my Father which is in heaven.
33
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my
Father which is in heaven.
The Ethiopian Treasurer needed to declare Who Jesus is, before he could
finish the process of becoming a Christian - Acts 8:37
37
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he
answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
